Well, almost. It will be a platform to rationally explain why western civilisation will end (but probably not tomorrow).</p> <p>Ok, some background information. Not one strong, dominant civilisation in history has survived long term; by which I mean over millenia. Of this, there are many examples.</p> <p>Everyone has heard of the ancient Eygptians. The most powerful people on Earth. The Eygptian built the pyramids and either conquered or traded with everyone they came across. Their decendents are now slowly recovering to become a developing nation after centuries of significant under-achievement. </p> <p>North American Indians are similarly well known. Evidence suggests that when their ancestors crossed the land bridge and entered the americas, the were at the cutting edge of technology. Clover Technology, which was a form of spear head, enabled them to make quicker, more efficient kills as part of a hunter/gatherer society. Indians could therefore spend less time hunting for food. They quickly spread throughout the continent. Most Indians have now been forced to intergrate with westeners or have been coralled onto 'reserves'.</p> <p>Almost identical stories can be relayed for the Persians, Ottomans, Myans, Incas, Greeks, Romans and many more. It is tempting to add Britain in that list but, technically, we still exist.</p> <p>So the question isn't will Western Civilisation end but when and how. One thing I'm confident of is that it won't be 'terrorists' that cause our demise. The prospect of the US/Europe being defeated by more advanced technology is equally without basis. I believe we will defeat ourselves.</p> <p>By that, I do not envisage a civil war. We're far too greedy [financially] for that. And lazy for that matter. Which is the generally subject of this blog. Our greed, our laziness. A grim determination to become as finacially rich and lazy as possible.
